regular, really?

and so what does it mean
this word

"regular"

the thesaurus says
systematic
orderly
normal 
and yes, usual

i think of the postman coming at 
his regular time

there is an order about
seconds ticking into minutes, into hours, into days
it’s systematic 
but the earth rotating at the same speed everyday
around the sun and
fitting into the galaxy 
at just the right place for 
breathing to be possible

can that ever be called normal?

that a man is born of woman
with a brain, nerves, muscles and bones
that allow
him to walk
and deliver
letters 
from across the world

could that ever be called
usual?

i guess we do the best we can
with those little things called
