Father God,
i just wanted you
to know
that i heard your early rain
falling softly
on my rooftop this morning
and when i stepped outside
to feel it on my face
the scent of it
astounded me
it was as though
i had never smelled it
before
and the cold of it?
ah, the cold of it
quickened me
Lord, i love your rain…
and i just wanted
you
to know
"Has the rain a Father? Who has begotten the drops of dew?"
Job 38:28

Very nice. Reminds me of this: "Earth’s crammed with heaven,
ReplyDeleteAnd every common bush afire with God;
But only he who sees, takes off his shoes,
The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries"
Love that! I have read the first two lines but never seen the last two!
