remembering Kathleen
after the diagnosis
she was daily drawn
to the sunrise
and there from her
chair near
the window
she inhaled
it's marvelous light
*This post is dedicated to Kathleen Selvidge who went home to be with her maker yesterday evening at 6:10, just as the sun was setting in the west.
We all come into the world gifted by the Lord to help our fellow travelers. Among Kathleen's gifts were an especially tender mercy and a refined appreciation for beauty; both of which inspired and encouraged all who knew her. I know i echo the sentiments of many friends in sending grateful love and sincere sympathy to her devoted family. She will be remembered and missed.

beckoned
and in the briefest of moments
his soul took flight
winging it's way
to the beautiful woods
beyond
"In the night of death, hope sees a star, and listening love can hear the rustle of a wing.
~Robert Ingersoll
*This post is dedicated to my friends who have recently experienced the departure of a loved one and those who are going through that process now. May you experience deep deep comfort.

possibility
like the promise of light
on a dark winter night
so is the power
of love
"Love is an act of endless forgiveness, a tender look which becomes a habit." ~Peter Ustinov

through the haunting hue
of her pale
blue light
