remedy

i visited
the sunflower fields
last week

and their faces
did not
fail

" The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God.  Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles."   ~Anne Frank

that moment in the rainforest

after clicking
the shutter

i shuddered
in awe

at the green
into green

the path yet
unseen

and the
bridge

This week I was made aware of the passing of a beautiful thirty eight year old mother.  She simply stopped breathing in her sleep, leaving four young daughters and a loving husband.  Most of us have experienced the loss of someone unexpectedly. We have experienced shock, disbelief, anger, confusion, pain, and many other emotions that repeat themselves in no particular order, as we adjust to a new normal in our lives.

It is during such times that I find myself seeking beauty.....desiring to hear from God through His creation that what has just happened isn't really the end of the story.  Today, as I looked back through photos taken in Olympic National Park, i was encouraged by this one. It seemed to be a good visual of the Christian's belief that death is indeed a bridge and not a final destination.

"Let your hearts take courage. Hope in God."
"Jesus was raised from the dead and named the firstborn of us who follow." (See Colossians 1:18)

Below is a photo of Wynter Pitts and her family. Read about her life. She left a wonderful legacy.

                                                               Well done Wynter.
