yesterday
i found a spoon
in a tree

and it wasn't me
who put it there

there was a drop of rain
on the spoon
that was in the tree
that was in the ground

that happened to be
around
the corner of the qwik shop

from which i had wandered
away
while my husband stayed
to top off the truck
with gas

and what is the meaning
of this tiny tale
of the spoon in the tree?
