the gift bag)

jelly
the sight of it
bringing back
a shaft of sunlight
through the window
of our farmhouse kitchen
those many years ago
and mom
in her apron
stirring
at the stove
*I'm not a jelly lover; even as a child, i never ate the jelly mom made. But the memories invoked by the sight of this jar were invaluable. Thanks ann.......and be assured that my husband and sons will definitely delight in the jelly!
