rough places

all of our journeys
have
rough places

times of getting
bogged down

we slip, slide
and hope to
keep on going

and usually we do

but sometimes
the wheels sink deep
we're buried to the axels
"a snowball's chance in hell" (as dad
would say)
of getting out

alone,
that is
