the yeast dissolved
in water warm
flour, eggs,
and honey
added to form
a ball
kneading
done
and now
we wait
with warmth
and time
the heart
expands
*I took this photo during the making (my 2nd batch ever) of Challah bread. I made it Christmas Eve and we enjoyed it with an oven stew.
When I put it in the bowl to rise,
I couldn’t help but realize
how much like life
the process was.
