speaking to a crow

how stately you are
enthroned on the fence;
a pastoral prince

tell me please,
Mr. crow,
what do you feel

when eggs hatch in spring
or sun warms your wing
in the middle of winter?

“Some people talk to animals.  Not many listen though. That’s the problem. “

“A.A. Milne, Winnie the Pooh”

  1. The singular. The solo. Perched and poised. For pure food? For bonding and mating? For pure simple, basic needs or worldly concerns? Made me think and wonder what it must be to be a crow. Wonderful capture Terry. Thank you.
