april question

i asked myself
this
morning

what might i
do

if there were
no spring

no hope
nor hue

*But there "is" spring. There "is" hope. And i am thankful.

“Come away my beloved
For now winter is past
The rain has ended and gone away….

The blossoms appear in the countryside
The time of singing has come…..
And the turtle dove’s cooing is heard
In our land. . .

Come away my beautiful one.”

  2. Your words of Hope reminded me of something I just read. There is a small book called "Lincoln's Devotional", which has a scripture and a short poem for each day. April 9's poem is this: "A scrip on my back, and a staff in my hand/I march on in haste through an enemy's land/The road may be rough, but it cannot be long/So I'll smooth it with hope, and I'll cheer it with song." I loved the imagery of smoothing our way with HOPE.

  3. Thank you Cheryl. Great to hear from you. And thank you Christy for sharing the poem from Lincoln's Devotional. It's a very visual poem..."haste through an enemy's land" is a powerful line also. And Hope does make our way smoother doesn't it!
