kathleen stopped by
yesterday
she brought me
the loveliest
orchid
she didn't know
how many times
i've stopped to look at orchids
on my grocery runs to dillons
all those times of looking
and i'd never bought one
i stand and gaze on it
against the hazy gray
of this february morning
a cultured flower, i think
and like kathleen
rare
in beauty
